Hi, I’m Jade.

I’m an experienced and accredited counsellor, somatic practitioner, and co-director of Albury Wodonga Counselling and Therapies. I was born in Wodonga and grew up in this community — studying, working, and building my life here — and it is deeply meaningful to now support the same community that shaped me.

My work has always been grounded in advocacy, social justice, and systems change. But over time, my path kept drawing me closer to what lives beneath the system — the nervous system, the body, the stories we carry, and the parts of ourselves that were shaped long before we had words.

Counselling became the place where that work could truly live. Somatic and breath-based practices became the way it could deepen.

At the heart of my work is a belief that healing doesn’t happen through insight alone. It happens when the nervous system feels safe enough to soften, reorganise, and integrate. My approach is grounded in psychodynamic theory, polyvagal and nervous-system science, relational and attachment-based work, and humanistic, strengths-based practice.

I work gently and relationally, with deep respect for the body’s wisdom. Rapport and therapeutic alliance are not just important to me — they are foundational. Many people arrive to therapy feeling vulnerable, disempowered, or unsure. My role is to create safety first, and depth second. There is room for all parts of you here. Nothing needs to be edited, rushed, or fixed.

Alongside traditional counselling, I increasingly integrate somatic and breath-based practices, particularly for people who feel stuck despite years of talking, understanding, or analysing. This work supports nervous-system regulation, emotional processing held in the body, grounding, presence, and integration. It is not about pushing, reliving, or overwhelming the system — it is about working with the body slowly, ethically, and safely so change can be felt, not just understood.

I don’t believe people are broken. I believe they are shaped — by their experiences, their relationships, their bodies, and the systems they’ve had to survive within. Healing, to me, is not about fixing. It’s about remembering, reconnecting, and creating enough safety for the body to choose something different. And when that choice comes from within, it is powerful.

When you work with me, you won’t be rushed, analysed, or asked to perform healing. You can expect a pace that respects your nervous system, depth without force, honesty held with gentleness, and space for the parts of you that have been silenced, hidden, or misunderstood. I will meet you where you are — not where you think you should be.

Outside of the therapy room, I’m a mum to a beautiful little boy and deeply value family, connection, and community. I’m expressive, social, empathetic, and reflective, and I bring that humanness into my work. Creativity is central to my own regulation and self-care — through art, music, cooking, and meaningful time with people I love. These parts of me don’t sit outside my work — they inform it.

I believe in depth, safety, embodiment, and integration. In helping people feel more grounded, more regulated, and more themselves.

If something in you feels drawn here, trust that.
You don’t have to have the words yet.

We can find them together.
