The Full Story

Welcome to Albury Wodonga Counselling and Therapies.

Collectively formed in 2024 by three local women with a vision to provide a unique experience for those across the lifespan seeking therapeutic support through counselling and psychotherapy.

Working together for over seven years, in both not-for-profit sectors and private practice, Bonnie, Chardonnay and Jade realised that there was more to offer to those ready to walk the journey of self discovery, reflection and sometimes visiting painful memories, feelings and emotions. We realised that in order for people to feel most safe within vulnerability, the space and energy you create begins before the session starts.

The journey began over a shared dream often to be discussed on walks over our lunch breaks and a private online group chat with ideas full of excitement, passion, innovation and integrity. Our vision was underpinned by our equal respect of counselling ethics and evidence based research on trauma informed care. Our dream quickly turned into reality after each of us endured our own journeys through motherhood, post graduate degrees and training, along with our experiences working as sole traders. We couldn't un see the gaps that existed in mainstream services. Often clinical and overcrowded with little attention to detail in the physical therapeutic environment and the importance of the ambience often overlooked and undervalued.

We all collectively envisioned an aesthetically beautiful space that spoke to our values and truly delivered what we preach amongst our four walls. A space where style meets comfort because therapy is often about stabilisation, self care and safety. We wanted a space where "the therapeutic journey begins the moment you walk through our door". With natural light, aromatherapy, herbal tea, breath work exercises, soft music, and comfortable seating with privacy, space, permission and purpose. It was integral that our services would meet the needs of diverse individuals accross the lifespan inclusive of neurodivergent peoples, LGBTIQ+ communities, and first nations people.

Offering a unique style of support ranging from more traditional modalities such as CBT, ACT and person centred therapy as well as the integration of some of the newer evidence based therapies inclusive of EFT, Creative and expressive therapies, Art therapies, symbols and sand tray, therapeutic storytelling, play therapy that encompasses sensory play and risky play, and sensory motor therapy.

We want to welcome you, our community, to Albury Wodonga Counselling and Therapies. We each feel privileged to be working within our community which we ourselves grew up in learning, working and playing, and are now raising our own families in this special area of our country.

Thank you for being here.
