Hi, I’m Sophie!  a qualified Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work and a Bachelor of Human Services. I’ve had the privilege of supporting children and families across the Albury–Wodonga community for the past 8 years,  with experience spanning across  disability, residential care, and family services.

I’m passionate about creating a calm, nurturing space where children and families feel genuinely safe, supported, and heard , especially during difficult or overwhelming times. My work is grounded in a trauma-informed approach, with a strong focus on connection, emotional safety, and understanding each child’s unique story.

I support children to make sense of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, gently building their capacity to regulate emotions and cope with challenges. Drawing on evidence-based approaches, including cognitive and behavioural strategies, I help children develop practical tools while also strengthening confidence, resilience, and self-understanding.

My approach is flexible and child-centred, using play, curiosity, and connection to meet each child where they’re at. I place a strong emphasis on co-regulation and relationships, creating a foundation where children feel safe enough to explore, express, and grow.

I also work closely with parents and caregivers, offering supportive, down-to-earth guidance to help them feel more confident in responding to their child’s emotional needs. Together, we build stronger connections at home and create meaningful, lasting change for the whole family.

Approach & Ongoing Development

My work is grounded in a trauma-informed, relationship-focused approach, integrating evidence-based strategies to support emotional regulation, behaviour, and overall wellbeing. I draw on a range of therapeutic frameworks in a flexible and child-centred way, always adapting to the unique needs of each child and family.

I am committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice to ensure the support I provide is thoughtful, current, and tailored to each individual.
