Hi, I’m Kellie. I’m a qualified counsellor with over 20 years of experience supporting children, young people, and families across both the community and education sectors. My background spans early childhood intervention, school-based counselling, and supporting individuals with diverse abilities, including developmental and disability-related needs.
My passion lies in working with children and adolescents aged 3 to 18. I bring a warm, calm, and person-centred approach that is grounded in trauma-informed, relational, and non-judgmental practice. I believe in honouring the unique story of each individual and adapting therapeutic support to align with their developmental stage, cultural background, and strengths.
Throughout my career, I have supported clients across a broad spectrum of needs—from emotional and behavioural regulation, to anxiety, grief, and adjustment challenges, to complex family dynamics. I am particularly attuned to the importance of early intervention, strong relational attachments, and the role of the wider system in a child or young person’s life.
I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities including play therapy principles, expressive therapies, CBT, and strength-based approaches, tailoring each session to suit the individual. My counselling philosophy is grounded in empathy, safety, and collaboration—working not just with the child but also with caregivers, schools, and allied health teams to ensure wraparound support.
I work holistically and collaboratively, placing strong value on safety, trust, and empowerment within the therapeutic relationship. My role is to walk alongside young people and their families—supporting them to navigate life’s challenges, reconnect with their strengths, and feel confident in their capacity to thrive.
Outside of counselling, I enjoy spending time outdoors, engaging in creative activities, and being with my family. These practices help keep me grounded and reflective in my work with others.
